This is a repost of one I wrote for lynns-tuesday-picture-prompt-32 last week. I borrowed the picture and wrote the short poem to go with it. Glen is the host of the LTPP picture prompt series. My thanks to both for allowing me to use the picture again. Links to Lynn and Glen are at the bottom of the page.
Piano In The Snow
I see someone’s patient, loving hands teaching,
A younger set of hands reaching
To play the notes and make the sounds
Shown on the paper in front of them.
I see someone’s tired hands quietly reaching,
Searching for the melody of a song.
A melody that has been forgotten far too long.
Hoping to find it again and the love it brought.
I see friends gatherer ’round it to sing,
Songs and lively tunes for the joy they bring.
They become one heart, one voice
Brought together by their own choice.
The keys are played with style and grace
Putting smiles on every face.
The love they share as their voices meld
Are forever hidden and in their memories held.
